Hope Street is The Greenhouse for People on 26th and Capitol. They provide housing and community to empower broken men, women, and children to cultivate a relationship with Jesus, themselves, and others to restore hope that flourishing is possible for us all.
At Hope Street, this takes shape in two ways: Homes at Hope Street is a 23-unit apartment building that provides housing for people coming from all sorts of brokenness, including substance abuse and incarceration. Shechem at Hope Street is a community center open to the public. Members of the community can come, play, build community, and feel safe.
This is on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 9-12noon. This is a great opportunity for families, small groups, work teams etc. The group will work on a variety of projects: prepping spaces for new members, cleaning common areas, outside upkeep, or special projects. There are projects for every level and age at Serve Saturday.
Email Katee Holcomb to sign up. (katee@hopestreetministry.org)
Every Tuesday, the community gathers to break bread and build community. Volunteers, staff, board, or members provide the meal for the week. You can gather your family or friends to prepare a meal for 10-15 people. The meal can be dropped off hot by 4:45 pm on Tuesday or delivered to the office between 8:30-3:30 on Monday or Tuesday for staff to heat and put out. This is a drop-off opportunity for volunteers, pray over the meal, and involve your kids or friends to help supply the meal.

Bridge To Brighter assists youth that have “aged out” of foster care. They have been able to provide assistance with housing expenses, food, GED testing, college fees/books, driver’s education, and much more. The Bridge to Brighter family is looking to grow and flourish as they strive to achieve their vision: that all youth in their care feel safe, respected, nurtured, and able to reach their full potential.
Bridge to Brighter manages three housing units with a total of 20 young men. One way to serve is to identify a day and time to provide a meal.
For more information, please reach out to Tina Schulz at tina@bridgetobrighter.org
The homes are in need of some clothing, linen, and cleaning products. Check the Amazon wishlist to see if you can provide something for the homes.

Many of the young men do not have their license or transportation. Being available to give rides to a job/interview, the store, to church, etc., could go a long way!
For more information, please reach out to Tina Schulz at tina@bridgetobrighter.org
Ongoing projects mean there is lots of work to be done in and around the homes. If you are the handy type, this could be an option for you.
